How To Disable Apple Remote Control in OS X Yosemite

Apple remote control can control multiple mac’s and Apple TV’s at the same time. This is annoying if you’re trying to control Apple TV in the same room with mac.

Here is quick tutorial how to disable apple remote control in OS X Yosemite:

Step 1. Open System Preferences

Step 2. Go to Security & Privacy

Step 3. Click the lock to make changes. Type admin password.

Step 4. Go to Advanced button in the lower-right corner.

Step 5.  Select the checkbox next to Disable remote control infrared receiver

 

Now your Apple remote controller is disabled.
