The iOS 8.2 beta 4 firmware seeded to developers today confirms that the Apple Watch will interface with a dedicated iPhone app.
In the new beta, when navigating to Settings then Bluetooth, a message under ‘Other Devices’ reads…
“To pair an Apple Watch with your iPhone, go to the Apple Watch app.”
The app will reportedly allow users to download apps onto the watch and likely manage select settings. Apple may also use the app to perform computations, rather than the watch, to save battery life.
