- The capabilities extend to pinpointing the timing, location, and frequency of issues, as well as identifying related events
- The “Conclusions” feature summarizes findings, enabling immediate action with clear guidance on resolution steps, like rolling back deployments or fixing specific issues, effectively reducing MTTR
A critical component of any monitoring and observability system is alerting. But alerts in and of themselves aren’t enough—when something goes wrong, time is of the essence, and your team needs to figure out not just what’s going on but how to fix it, and fast. Additionally, constantly chasing down alerts can be the bane of any observability practitioner’s existence.
With the introduction of the Logz.io AI Agent, we brought a new dimension to observability with an AI-based assistant that can help reduce manual investigation for team members and provide automated response actions.
The AI Agent includes a specific Root Cause Analysis (RCA) capability that reduces manual analysis, immediately identifies the impacts of an issue, pinpoints the causes and allows you to engage in a response right away.
Now, while the AI Agent remains in public beta, Logz.io is thrilled to add RCA on alerts set up in the platform by users. You can now get to the root causes of system issues with a trigger process through your alerting. This new addition promises to deliver detailed insights and actionable recommendations to dramatically reduce troubleshooting timeframes.
RCA on alerting gives you immediate contextual awareness on anything for which you’ve created an alert.
You’ll instantly surface the implications of a given issue to ensure conclusive investigation and response. Since small issues can turn into big issues, you can understand the resulting effect on the larger environment and related service interruptions through RCA. Then, once the analysis is complete, you can share the details of issues and analysis with other stakeholders to inform and coordinate response.
How AI Agent RCA on Alerts Works
RCA is an AI agent framework designed to help developers build and manage AI agents using code, libraries, and prompts. It provides a structured approach to creating intelligent systems and is embedded within platforms like Logz.io to enhance observability and troubleshooting capabilities.
Within both the Home Dashboard and the Event Management section of the Logs area of the Logz.io platform, users will have the ability to run RCA on log events—alerts, exceptions and insights—that you’ve set in the platform.
The capabilities extend to pinpointing the timing, location, and frequency of issues, as well as identifying related events. The “Conclusions” feature summarizes findings, enabling immediate action with clear guidance on resolution steps, like rolling back deployments or fixing specific issues, effectively reducing MTTR.
Additionally, RCA generates detailed insights for cross-team communication, helping users articulate what went wrong and how to resolve it. This ensures teams are aligned on next steps, improving collaboration and streamlining issue resolution.
We’ve found customers participating in the AI Agent beta are already experiencing 3-5X faster time to resolution thanks to the agent. If you’d like to see how it works, sign up for a demo today.
