Apple has reportedly tested a 64-bit A7 processor for the new iPhone 5S.
Transitioning to a 64-bit processor would make animations, transparencies, and other graphical effects appear smoother. Unfortunately, it’s unclear if the 64-bit processor made the cut.
The report also notes that Clayton Morris has made several claims on Twitter indicating that the iPhone 5S processor has significant speed improvements.
Sources are telling me the new iPhone’s A7 chip is running at about 31% faster than A6. I’m hearing it’s very fast.
Morris also suggested that the iPhone 5S will have a separate chip for motion tracking.
I’ve also heard there’s a separate chip devoted to motion tracking. Should be an interesting camera upgrade.
Finally, the report reiterates that the iPhone 5S will likely include a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.
Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C at an event on September 10th.
