Apple is preparing an update to fix MacBook air sleep/wake crashes
As reported by MacRumors Apple is planning to fix issues that causes MacBook Air to crush when they are wakened from sleep.
An Apple Authorized Service Provider told the site there seems to be a bug in the sensor that detects when Macbook Air is opened from sleep. It appears that the problem is related to OS X Mavericks and requires a combination of the computer going to sleep and a press on the keyboard or touchpad to initiate.
One user was able to successfully re-create the problem by pressing the power button then immediately clicking on the touchpad causing the machine to freeze. When this happens the problem requires a hard restart.
It is said this fix should be released along with the next OS X mavericks update, probably 10.9.2. OS X 10.9.2 beta 4 fixes part of the issue by requiring a 0.5s or greater press of the power key before anything happens.
