There are times, you will need to stay focused on one certain app, or are tired of working with a small screen. At this point, you can use full screen mode in macOS, which will occupy the entire display and at the same time hide the menu bar, unused apps and window buttons.
How to enter full screen mode
- In the upper left corner of the app window, you simply click on the full screen button.
- You can also enter the full mode with the keyboard shortcut Control + Command + F.
Here’s how you can navigate full screen mode
- Moving your cursor toward the top of the screen to access the Mac menu bar.
- Moving your cursor toward the Dock to access the Dock that sits at the bottom of the Mac’s screen by default.
- Using a three-finger drag gesture on your Mac trackpad to switch between apps while in full screen mode.
How to exit full screen mode
- In the upper left corner of the app window, you simply click on the full screen button.
- You can also exit the full screen mode using the keyboard shortcut Control + Command + F, or hitting the Escape key.
Note that the Escape key is easier to use, but it doesn’t always work with all apps.
